in fact i understand this ableton in a box thing
Personnaly i used to use ableton for djing. i was only use audio and not midi sequence. when the octatrack buzz was launched by elektron i was pretty excited. i have had a machinedrum and i knowed they were creative people with good usuability gear.
for me the octatrack do exactly what i wanted ableton to do. no only keep in sync loops but give the possibility to mangle and twist them on the fly. now djing is really creative and no only about blending tracks but giving on the fly version of a particular song
for me the octatrack is what ableton should have been . ableton kinda lost itself trying to be a regular daw. they should have focus on on the fly creativity and performance driven music
